Depends on what kind of player you are

If your a lower handicapper (like me) the Taylormade TP Smoke irons would be the best

But if your a higher handicapper then the Taylormade 09 Burner irons are probably better

It wouldn't matter if you weren't properly fitted (length, lie angle, shaft flex, etc.) to them. Some things to know, especially about Taylormade's irons:

1. TP models have a more "traditional" loft, whereas non-TP models are "stronger". That is, a 6 iron on a TP model will be about 30*, whereas a non-TP will be 26* or so. This will lead to more distance, but also a loss of control.

2. TP models are shorter than non-TP models. This is another way to promote longer shots, but also another way to lose control of the ball.

3. Taylormade has the fastest turnout of product out of any golf company. Within 6 months, a driver or set of irons is obsolete... or is it? Definitely not. You could even save yourself some money and buy the r7's or "Tour Preferred's"- same good qualities, not as many of the bad.

But DEFINITELY get fitted before you buy anything. That's the only way your new sticks will work properly for you.

The best performing Taylor iron would probably be the R9 TP.
