Miura makes the best irons, followed by Mizuno. These are generally not for high handicappers though. Weekend duffers should stick to an ultra-forgiving iron with a graphite shaft like most Callaways.
As for the Woods, I think TaylorMade and Ping are the best, but all of the big companies make good stuff. Callaway is also popular, as is everything Nike these days.
Wedges, maybe Titleist Vokey or Odyssey, Mizuno or Nike.
Putters, you are probably talking (titleist) Scotty Cameron or Odyssey, but again, TM Rossas, Pings, and many others make good **** too. It's all preference.
The top 5 mainstream brands are probably TaylorMade, Ping, Callaway, Nike and Titleist.
Srixon is fine too though. They make great balls and the other stuff will be fine too, but just know what you're getting into first. Don't go buying a set of forged blades when you can't break 110.
