If you want to buy a complete set you can get a nice complete set of Adams Tight Lies Plus for about $499, Wilson has a ProStaff set that sells for $349. Calloway makes the Top Flite brand. The best thing to do is to try to hit several different brands and see which you hit best. Most pro shops or golf specialty stores will let you hit the clubs. In a couple of weeks it'll be good time to buy, stores will be marking down for season end clearance around Labor Day.

If you can try out several of the store brands too. Golfsmith makes Snake Eyes, Lynx, XPC, MacGregor, ***** Sporting Goods has Acuity and Walter Hagen, Sports Authority sells Ram and Tommy Armour. I find some store brands quality can be as surprisingly as good as the brand names without the brand name price. I got an Acuity Ti-Plus set that I hit better than my expensive Cobra's and Taylor Made driver. I hit a slump with the Cobra's, liked the Acuity and bought it. I've hit the longest drives of my life with the Acuity Ti-Plus driver.

Well since you have a budget of $450, I suggest you go to Roger Dunn or any other Worldwide Golf Shops since they have a good selection of pre owned used name brand golf clubs. They have alot pre owned name brand drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, and wedges for as low as $50-60 which are usually the ones from like maybe for more than 3 years old but still name brand, and for the ones that are like a year or 2 old, or the latest which is pre owned, they run for $100-150 each club. Then you can get a name brand iron set for even as low as $150-200, usually the ones that are $150-200 are name brand iron sets from usually 5 years ago, and usually they price the forged blades lower than the cavity backs, but if you want cavity back irons they will be more expensive, but some good models can be $200. Basically building a pre owned name brand set from just choosing the pre owned clubs from Roger Dunn or any Worldwide Golf Shops will fit your budget of $450. Then you can also try out and demo all of the pre owned clubs they have on the rack on the hitting bays they have, and buy the ones that you feel comfortable hitting with. The only thing they don't have low price for pre owned clubs are the putters, some of the name brand putters they have which are still pre owned are still $70-100, if you want to buy a putter that is around $40, it's the warehouse brand they have. I suggest going to a local golf shop though for putters, since some can sell name brand putters for around $40. But Roger Dunn and the Worldwide Golf Shops only have stores in certain regions of the country, such as Roger Dunn has stores in the Los Angeles/Southern California and Hawaii region, they have The Golf Mart in the Northern California and San Diego region, Vans Golf Shops has stores in the Arizona region, and Golfers Warehouse in Rhode Island/Connecticut/Massachusetts region. To see if there is any Worldwide Golf Shops in your area, the website is below in the sources. But getting pre owned clubs from any of the Worldwide Golf Shops is the perfect place to get a name brand set that fits your budget of $450, and you want go get the clubs custom fitted for you, the pre owned clubs you get from there can also be customized in their golf repair center where they can adjust the loft, lie, and length of the clubs so they are fitted for you.

Just go to WalMart, Target, Academy Sports, (or your area's version of such stores) and buy yourself a set of golf clubs. Usually these "pre-set" club deals will give you 10-12 clubs to use for your game.

$450.00 would be easily in your price range for this suggestion.

I personally went to Academy Sports last year and bought myself my first set of golf clubs (which were Wilsons). I then purchased a sand wedge and lob wedge (both also Wilsons) for a total of 12 clubs in my collection. I'm not certain, but I think I paid a little over $200.00 (U.S. Dollars) for everything.

I enjoy the clubs alot and I have learned to enjoy the game even more... hope you have as much fun at the game as I do!

The ideal situation would be one where you could try actually hitting the clubs. At $450 you can't get a professional fitting so it would be great to just see/feel how the clubs behave. Its hard to recommend actual clubs because whats good for me may not be good for you and vice versa--everyone has different swings and swing speeds making the optimal shaft stiffness, weights, and club angles different.

When buying clubs many people don't pay much attention to shafts, but they make a big difference on how well you can hit the club.

like another individuals have stated, storage revenues & eBay are some places to envision. you additionally can desire to envision the classified ads for Dick's wearing products in case you have one on your section. They now and back have complete instruments of golf equipment (bag & putter lined) at a very good value, yet i'm uncertain how plenty you're eager to spend.
