I want to take someone golfing for their birthday, but I don't know when is the best time of day to make the appointment and what weather is the best weather to golf in? Their birthday is on December 2nd and we will be golfing at Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, CA.
Thanks!

I golf a lot more than the average person and much like the other guy, I'll go golfing in almost any weather; I love it that much.
But I'm from Wisconsin and moved to Southern Florida in May for golf school. I've golfed in pretty much everything.
Personally, the best weather is when it's in the 70s with a slight breeze (less than 10mph). If it's in the 60s, the ball doesn't travel as far and the same goes for when it's really hot and humid. Also, you want the course to be the on dry side so you get more roll out of the ball, thus making the round a tad bit more enjoyable. Conversely, if you're a solid player, you want the course a bit soft so you can fire at the pins and the ball will stay relatively close to where it lands.
Golf's a game comprised of preferences. It's really up to you. But so long as you aren't shivering or sweating almost profusely, and the wind isn't a 3-club wind (i.e. 30+ mph), you're gonna have a good time - it's golf!!!

You could potentially get a lot of answers here, but I'm with the majority as I'll play in most any conditions. BUT with that being said, I prefer early morning rounds when it's in the upper 60's to low 70's and the temp doesn't get past the lower 80's. I prefer the late spring as that's when everything is in bloom. I prefer no to little wind. But all that is just my opinion. The person's love for the game of golf should make your decision pretty easy. If they're a golf nut like most of us, they won't care about the weather....they'll probably appreciate spending time with you doing something they really enjoy!

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.
You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net

San Diego usually has good weather for golf. Early morning is my favorite time since the course is usually not crowded at that time. If that doesn't work, try mid to late afternoon. After 1:00 pm or so, our course is mostly empty.

I applaud You if you try to golf during December, but you live in San Diego, so how would I know? However most tipically in the summer IF it isn't too hot and maybe in the months of April and May

If you like to golf as much as I do any time or weather is good golfing conditions ! I live in the midwest so the golfing season is over for us. A 1st time I don't think it will matter to them as long as they get to go ! Good Luck !

Actually, it all depends on where you live, how crowded the courses are, and how many are available. But in terms of personal preferences, I'd love to play in the evening it quiet and not that really crowded.
