Oakleys... multi-function, multi-sport. The beauty of Oakleys, especially with the Half Jacket, Flak Jacket, or M Frame, is that you can change the lens to adapt to just about any sport or application -- golf, shooting, water sports, industrial eye protection, etc.

An inexpensive alternative is BluBlocker Sunglasses ( http://www.blublocker.com/ ) I usually wear Oakleys but I had forgotten my Half Jackets at home during a white water rafting trip (wrong sport, I know.) I bought a pair of American Eagle BluBlocker Sunglasses. BluBlocker Sunglasses are actually pretty nice. Great contrast and visual clarity for less than $20.

The truth of the matter is that wearing sunglasses while golfing will impede your ability to see the ball land. I bought Maui Jims for golfing and although they are excellent sunglasses I still have trouble seeing the ball when I wear them. Look at the pros and you'll notice that very few of them wear sunglasses. There's a reason for this. You just don't follow the ball as well when you wear them. If you can do without them on the golf course you're better off.

Maui Jim SPORTS ... best lens quality period. Best customer service too.. I used to work at sunglass hut selling oakley and all of the other brands and maui jim takes the cake. The sports are not too bad and I would go with a brown lens.. getting the lens is the most important.. because you want to see true colors for perception purposes

I wear Smith&Wesson shooting glasses, I know this is an odd choice but they have amber lenses that help me see the ball traveling down the fairway. I had a problem losing balls because I didn't see them land before that. They are affordable mine were 12$ dollars, and are scratch and shatterproof, so if you play with a friend who has terrible aim at least your eyes will be safe.

Callaway is making the best "golf glasses" on the market and for the price. Oakley's are too pricey...shooting glasses are for "shooting", not golf. Look on ebay, there are some good buys on real Callaways.
