A lot of times to speed up the game the rules will be set at double par. This means if you are on a par 3 and hit six times you pick up the ball and go on to the next hole. The same goes with par 4 -pick up at 8 and par 5 pick up at 10.

Having played golf for 60 years, I have never heard "double par" but I think it would refer to a double bogey on a hole, i.e., two over par for a hole.

Have played this game for 70 years and have never heard the term " double par " used as an expression.

when you shoot double par



ex par 4, and you got and 8, double par



par 3 you get a 6 double par



you get a 10 on a par 5 double par
