The Platinum is last year's version of the One Tour, just as the One Black is last year's version of the One Tour D. They are each similar to their counterparts... The One Tour and Platinum are 4-piece construction for better green-side spin. The One Tour D and the Black are 3-piece construction, for better distance, but not as much spin as the One Tour/Platinum.

The only real difference is in the Platinum to the Tour. The Platinum, when struck at 95 mph (average male golfer's swingspeed) the ball only averaged 230 yards off the tee*. Once you got to 100+, the length definitely increased. The One Tour, however, responds a touch better at slower swingspeeds.

the ONE TOUR is a softer ball than ONE PLATINUM. if you would like a little more feel then i would suggest the ONE TOUR. I play the Nike One tour because i like the feel around the green and off the tee.

They are different golf balls, made of different material, for different players. I personally play any golf ball in good shape because it really doesnt matter unless your a scratch golfer, if you are scratch I suggest the Tour because its a slightly better ball but if your a beginner or average golfer, the ball does not matter one bit.
