I like black. Those are my favorite golf balls. They maximize distance and control. And platinum is also good, they reduce excessive spin off the tee and spin off irons.

The Platinum spins more than any other golf ball. The Black is longer off the tee. I use both, but I like the Black better. Both are great around the green. You won't go wrong with either ball.

ive tried both and didnt really like either of them(maybe im just partial to the pro v1) the black does have a firmer feel to it and doesnt spin much with any club for me. the platinum i love the feel and the distance but i found that the spin was hard to control. sometimes i would spin the ball so much with the wedges and then i would compensate for the next shot and the ball would do nothing. but its all on what works for you...try them both!

I prefer Platinum because I feel you get better roll with the putting, and better distance control on all of your clubs.



The black goes farther yes, but for me it messes with my natural feel not only off of the tee, but on the green.



Best thing to do would be to try both without having to buy anything if at all possible.

If your handicap is above 10 (really, above 5), it doesn't make any difference. Choose whatever feels better mentally.
