one iron .. a lost classic.. what is the loft?

what is the degree of loft in a 1 iron..a forgotten classic that should remind us of how hard this game is.

As you can see from all the previous answers, no one agrees on the same number. Nobody is wrong, in fact they are all correct; no club in golf has a standard/blanket loft that all manufacturers follow. For every iron there will be variance from brand to brand, just like how a driver can have lofts from 8 - 15 degrees.

The 1 iron has a loft similar to the driver. The standard at the time was between 9.5 and 12. 5 degree s loft angle.
