it a question about how much you are willing to spend.

if you are a cheap person then the d2 feel gives you the best spin for the least money. if you are so so in price than go with the new nxt tour. and finally if money is no object then go with the pro v1, pro v1x or the bridgeston b330, b330-s or the nike platinum or the nike black or the new callaway i and ix or the taylormade red and black.

my raking

the most spin for the best price

1 d2 feel

2 nxt tour

3 pro v1

the most spin with the most distance

1. taylormade black/red

2. d2 feel

3. nxt tour

flat out the most spin

1.pro v1/v1x

2.bridgestone b330/330-s

3.callaway tour i/ix

spin with the softest feel on a putter

1.d2 feel (almost to soft)

2.pro v1 (not the pro v1x)

3.bridgestone b330-s (not the b330)

my top three mainly because of distance and feel on the putter

1 d2 feel

2 nxt tour (2008 only not the previous ones)

3. pro v1 and pro v1x (they are tied)

All bellata type golf balls are soft and therefore they will get more grip off the golf club face. This results in more spin. Personally I prefer Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.

That said the choice of club also has a significant part to play in inducing spin. There are several manufacturers who make "milled faced" golf clubs. Basically they have a rough face which grips the ball on impact and causes spin. I use two Titleist clubs of the Bob Vokey model / design, they are excellent for getting spin on the ball.

No golf ball has built in spin. The spin comes from proper execution of the golf shot. That requires hitting the lower third of the golf ball, driving it into the turf, having the turf stop the ball which in turn travels up the club face grabs the grooves which impart the spin. A softer cover ball MAY spin more than a hard covered one. Spin can only be accomplished if the golfer has better than average swing speed.

Titleist ProV1, ProV1X have the most spin, no question. I don't like to use these balls when hitting off the tee, unless it's a par 3 and I want to spin the ball. ProV1's don't carry as far as some harder-cover balls such as Nike, Titleist DT, or Pinnacle which will travel further when hit, but these 3 brands of balls don't have near the amount of spin that you want when hitting into a green or using around a green. You want more spin-ach....go with the ProV's...that's why so many Pro golfers on tour use them.

I think it may be the titleist balata, but I'm also not sure whether they make them any more.

You can search places like ebay, because they sell them very cheap, and they will be collectors items in a few years, as they are rare.

They might be illegal, but I don't think so.

I only have 1 and I'm keeping it.

You may want to try maxfli noodles. I tried them and they are great!

Or the final option is the prov1, but thats expensive. Prov1x Is hard, no matter what some people say(I think)

Hope I helped (btw, Sorry about saying Ithink alot)

Edited later:

Hi to everyone out there. The prov1x does NOT spin more. It is one of the harder balls out there, not softer!

The prov1 is softer and can spin. Trust me, don't go prov1x!

Nike One Platinum. It spins faster than any other ball on the market. Wilson Tx4 is the 2nd fastest and the Nike One Black is the 3rd fastest.
