2. Cut a piece of tape that is about the same size as the grip.
3. Wrap the tape around the shaft leaving no ripples that could create air bubbles. (Be sure to keep a little tape at the butt end of the club so dirt doesn't fall through the little grip hole....also the grip will be easier to slide on.
4. Squirt solvent in the grip and on the tape....the empty solvent from the grip onto the tape.
5. Quickly slide the new grip on.
6. Make sure grip is all the way on.
7. Now center and square the grip to your preference.
8. In 15-20 mins club is ready to be hit.

It's very easy and inexpensive. You really don't need the vise described in this article -- but once you douse the new grip tape with solvent you do need to move quickly to slide the new grip on and position it. (Be certain not to stretch the grip down the shaft farther than the original length of the grip)
Being a member of a country club with a pro shop , I have the pro or one of his staff re grip my clubs. They know what they are doing, have done a great job on previous occasions and since I support them to the best of my ability let them earn the money.
