Essentially , rain gloves are just 100% cotton gloves. When cotton gets COMPLETELY soaking wet , it provides a normal grip. So the only time I would use them would be if it is pouring rain, I was unable to keep my normal gloves dry , and I was in a tournament that was not being stopped for unplayable conditions. Otherwise I just won't play in a hevy rain.

Wet weather gloves are supposed to provide you with the same level of grip *despite* the rain. Leather gloves get slippery when wet; a good wet-weather glove will have a palm surface designed to improve grip when the glove is wet, or to channel water off.

Wet weather gloves are synthetic so with repeated use in bad conditions they'll last better than an equivalent cabretta leather glove and they keep your hands drier too. Look for a glove that is breathable so your hands dont get too sweaty. As with most equipment, it pays to buy a quality glove as it's a main contact point between you and the club.

There are plenty of decent gloves out there but I personally think that Footjoy make arguably the best wet-weather gloves.

Now that I am 86 and have been out of competition for a few years, there is little need for all- weather golf gloves. If it rains, I don't play. When I did, many times we had wet weather which started during a round and the rain glove was an asset. It always felt wet and there was an eerie feeling wearing it but it served the purpose, never wore through and has lasted 15 years.

The gloves do work and help in damp conditions more than a standard glove would. Nike makes a nice glove but foot joy is a little better.

Rather than a pair I would by at least 2 gloves for the same hand for play in the wet,so you can swap when the one u have been using gets soaked. FJ, Callaway, Taylormade and Srixon are all good.

They're supposed to, but I'd rather play with regular golf gloves. When playing in the rain, you have to be prepared just like any other time you play. Extra towels to keep your cart seat dry, your golf grips dry, and extra gloves to keep your hands dry. Also the rain suits are useful too.

Instead of investing in a wet weather golf glove, which in my opinion are crap, you should just buy 2 normal gloves (1for each hand) and use them. Hope this helps.
