Wilson Staff has several models of irons, you didn't mention which ones you are considering. Having said that, I love my Ci7s. They look and feel great are forgiving and very long.

You should try any club before buying, but you can't beat Wilson Staff's value. Remember, Padraig Harrington used Wilson Staff irons (plus woods and hybrids) to win 3 major tournaments, I wouldn't call those "beginner clubs"!

Stay away from standard "Wilson" clubs, they are of lower quality. Make sure that you are buying "Wilson Staff" clubs.

i think it was the pi7 irons that i played - they were the small cavity tour iron. not bad really - there are always deals on wilson staff irons. the fit and finish isnt as great as some other clubs, but you get what you pay for. the irons i played were nice - felt pretty good for a cast iron.

try some out and then make your decision.

The Di7's are, in my opinion, not worth it. The lofts are strengthened to the point where your short game will suffer (the PW is 42*!! What are you supposed to do about your distance spacing with the wedges?). If you want a good W/S iron set, look at the Ci7s. They are a mixture of playability and game-improvement. They can also grow with you, much more than the Di7's will.

Wilson Staff are excellent starter clubs. They give you a solid feel and are reasonably forgiving. Great price too!
